Corson, South Dakota was named for Henry Tabor Corson, a native of Maine, who took an active part in the building of the Wilmar & St. Paul railroad into Sioux Falls. Henry Corson was one of the railroad’s first directors.

Today, Corson is a tiny community that depends upon the growth of Sioux Falls to survive. Much like the surrounding towns, Corson is a bedroom community to the economic growth of Sioux Falls
