Draper, South Dakota is small prairie town that started out with big city dreams in 1906. Perched high on a hill, Draper,SD is visible for many miles in all directions.

If you look closely at the country side you can see where some of the filming for “Dancing With the Wolves” took place. Draper's countryside views constitute making it worth the stop for a stretch and some mind wandering about what life might have been like in the 1880’s.

Draper has a combination gas station, convenience store and fast food restaurant just off SD Interstate 90 serving the local ranchers, weary travelers and pheasant hunters.
