Geddes is one of South Dakota’s small and friendly towns that got its start as a trading site on the Missouri River, and then later became a railroad town. Geddes was actually founded in 1900 and named for a Milwaukee railroad official, D.C. Geddes. Located on Highway 50 , Geddes lies in direct route with the Lewis and Clark Trail, and is only about a 10 minute drive from the Missouri River.
