Lemmon, South Dakota is a town that sits in two states. The town was named for “Ed” Lemmon, pioneer and cattleman who donated the land for the town. Lemmon is the trade center for a large territory in both North and South Dakota, which produces grain, cattle, horses, and sheep. Due to the fact that Lemmon, SD is the only town of any appreciable size within a wide area, it commands a very large trade territory.
