Miller, South Dakota was named in honor of its first settler, Henry Miller. Through the enterprising of Henry Miller and his sons the town was established and grew with the railroad. After a questionable battle with St. Lawrence for the County Seat, Miller quickly took dominance over the surrounding towns after the county seat was awarded to Miller. Millers history dates back to the late 1800s with the arrival of the railroad. The McWhorter House museum preserves this rich pioneer history.
Today Miller, South Dakota has two full blocks of business establishments and is maintaining a steady growth in the area. Prime sportsmans territory with an abundance of area lakes for fishing and prime pheasant country for the hunters.
