In the days of large cattle drives, Presho, South Dakota was known as the “bedding down” place for extensive round-ups. Medicine Creek is located close by providing ample water and feed for the cattle. In the early 1900’s, Presho was considered one of the largest hay-baling and shipping points in the United States. Presho was settled in 1905 and named after an early settler, J.S. Presho.
