Tyndall is another community that originated when the railroad came through the county. Tyndall was founded in 1879 and named in honor of John Tyndall, a British scientist. For several years the railroad provided the main economy of the town by providing the rural and townspeople with all their needs. The first building built in Tyndall was the railroad depot. In 1885 the county seat was moved from Bon Homme to Tyndall. The court house provided jobs and an influx of business assuring the continued growth of the town. Today, Tyndall is a quiet small town with all the services you need.
