Oyate Trail
The Oyate Trail is located off Interstate 29 and Highway 50. It winds down to Highway 18, which leads across the southen plains of South Dakota. This 388 mile route, from I-29 on the east to the southern foothills of the Black Hills on the west, provides a rich history of the local Native Americans and the immigration of the Northern European settlers. Important cultural and historical sites may be visited along the way. There are 32 towns along the Oyate Trail that were vital to the establishment of South Dakota
